From September 6 to 7, 2016, Managing Internationalization and the SHARE scholarship program was held at Aula Terapung, Universitas Indonesia, Depok. The event was a series of workshop to discuss internationalization in ASEAN and introduction to SHARE (European Union Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN). The number of attendance participating from UI and European Union was 50. The first day was opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng, Director of Education, Universitas Indonesia, followed by Dr. Stefan Hell’s welcoming speech, Team Leader of SHARE, on the establishment of EU – ASEAN SHARE Program.
The event was divided into 7 workshop sessions with 4 workshop session taking place on the first day and the rests were on the second day. The first session discussed trends and developments in internationalization and the role of IROs, introduced and moderated by Tamara Megaw of EP-Nuffic. It was followed by a discussion on dealing with student mobility and first experiences with the SHARE scholarship program. The next session’s presenters were Mervin Bakker, Director of Nuffic Neso Indonesia (EP-Nuffic) and Prof. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng on promoting international student mobility. The last session of the day was on EU’s SHARE scholarship in general and the institutional level by Mervin Baker.
The next day started with a presentation and overview of the SHARE Scholarship Framework Guidebook (session 5-6) that included rules and regulations, financial and logistics procedures and ways in enhancing students experience by Arief Maulana (EP-Nuffic) and moderated by Tamara Megaw (EP-Nuffic). The last agenda was a workshop CLMV in focus; specifically targeted towards universities from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam to identify needs, challenges and possible solutions that are usually faced in students mobility.
