  • The 2017 UTS Bachelor of Accounting Asia Leadership Intensive opening held at UI, on Monday 11 September, 2017. The opening was held at Student Center 2nd floor Faculty of Economics & Business at Universitas Indonesia, Depok. The opening ceremony started with Introduction to Indonesian Business Culture. Continued by, welcome remarks from Pribadi Setiyanto, S.E., M.A, Head of Student Activity Center, Faculty of Economics & Business, Universitas Indonesia and continued by Opening Remarks from UTS’ representative, Ms. Michelle Cook, Director Bachelor of Accounting Program, University of Technology Sydney. The next agenda was group photo session followed by token exchange. After that, they went for a Campus Tour of Universitas Indonesia. After the Campus Tour, there was an Introduction about Faculty of Economics & Business by Mrs. Muthia Pramesti, Head of International Office Faculty of Economics & Business, Universitas Indonesia. The next agenda was lunch at Faculty of Economics & Business and after that, the students of UTS headed towards Jakarta to visit Australian Trade Commission.

  • This course is characterized by the following: (1) a focus on working engineers and researchers from developing countries, (2) a curriculum designed to develop practical research capabilities in course graduates that enable them to assume a central role in on-site research and manufacturing centers, (3) education and research guidance conducted in English, (4) opportunities to experience Japan’s technical innovation through internships, and (5) opportunities to learn Japanese language (including Business Japanese) and gain a familiarity with Japanese Affairs.   • The program is highly competitive and admits only 15 to 20 students each year, out of which about seven to ten candidates are awarded the prestigious Monbukagakusho Scholarship administered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the Government of Japan. Another ten to fifteen outstanding candidates are awarded the ADB-JSP Scholarship administered by the Asian Development Bank and JJ/WBGSP Scholarship administered by the World Bank. All scholarships cover tuition and academic fees, a monthly allowance ranging from147,000 to 148,000 Yen, and a round-trip air ticket from the awardee’s home country. Some grants are also available for books and research travel within Japan. The Monbukagakusho Scholarship for the Doctoral Course is granted for up to three years based on satisfactory performance of the student. The Master’s Degree scholarships are granted for two years. Neither scholarships are extendable beyond three and two years, respectively. The Master’s Degree scholarships require the awardees to return to their home countries upon completion of study to contribute to their country’s development. A Doctor of Eng./Ph.D. Degree or a Master’s Degree applicant for the Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship must: be a national of a country where the Japanese Government Scholarship is offered. be under 35 years of age as of April 1st of the application year. Note: Some changes are expected in relation to Monbukagakusho (MEXT) scholarship this year. Please understand that there may be a change of call for   the scholarship. A Master’s Degree applicant for the Asian Development Bank-Japan (ADB-JSP) Scholarship must: be a national of a member country of the Asian Development Bank. be not more than 35 years old at the time of application. live or work in his/her home country. agree to return to his/her home country after completion of study. not be an Executive Director, an Alternate Director, an official or a staff member of the Asian Development Bank and other international organizations. A Master’s Degree applicant for the JJ/WBGSP Scholarship must: be a national of a World Bank member developing country. not hold dual citizenship of a developed country. be in good health hold a bachelor (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years prior to the application deadline date. have 3 years or more of recent development-related experience after earning a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree. be accepted unconditionally to enroll in the upcoming academic year in our master’s degree program. not be an Executive Director, his/her alternate, and/or staff of all types of appointments of the World Bank Group, or a close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption with the term “close relative” defined as: Mother, Father, Sister, Half-sister, Brother, Half-brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew. There are no separate application forms for Monbukagakusho, ADB-JSP, and JJ/WBGSP scholarships. The same application forms are used for all of these programs. One set of application materials is enough to be considered for all of the scholarships.   • “Winter Seminar on Human Security Development and Energy Science” is co-organised by the Graduate School of Energy Science (GSES) of Kyoto University and the ASEAN University Network-Kyoto University (AUN-KU) Student Mobility Program toward Human Security Development. It is designed for undergraduate students to study the concept of Human Security Development (HSD) and Energy Science. The main theme of this seminar is energy science, which is an important issue for Human Security Development. The participating students are expected to expand and deepen their knowledge on human security development and energy science with the prospect of exploring solutions to technological, socio-economic and political issues, focusing on the Asian region. The seminar will offer lectures and class discussions as well as organised field trips and networking events.  Applicants from all fields are welcome. Date & Venue 8 – 20 January 2018 at Kyoto University, Japan.
