  • Kangwon National University (KNU), Korea offers programs for  undergraduates in all subjects in semester 3 (min) and semester 6 (max) and has never participated in a scholarship program from the International Office. (Scholarship offered: Tuition fee) Students who are interested can submit an application along with supporting documents: Recommendations of the faculty, final transcripts (GPA min. 3.3 for Social Sciences and Economics and Business) and (IPK min. 3.1 for Health Sciences, Natural Sciences and Engineering), TOEFL ITP at least 550/ IELTS at least 6, Motivation letter and CV to the International Office at the latest on 1 November 2017.   *Students should be in their 3rd semester (min) and 6th semester (max) by the time of the application **Note: Students who have participated/enrolled to any scholarship program from International Office UI are NOT eligible

  • APRU Senior International Leaders Meeting is an annual meeting attended by representatives from APRU member universities to have a discussion and review the progress of initiatives implementation. On this meeting, representatives of universities are given the opportunity to provide new ideas from their university. Universitas Indonesia, represented by Dr.-Ing. Ir. Nasruddin, M.Eng. from Faculty of Engineering, has presented the new initiative of hosting a new research cluster called APRU Cluster on Renewable Energy (APRU-CORE). The initiative of hosting a research cluster on Renewable Energy is based on the thought of a very fundamental problem about the fuels and energy, which also relevant to one of the Sustainable Development Goals; Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. The objectives of this program are to develop renewable energy role in achieving sustainable development.   This idea received a great feedback and support from APRU secretariat and member universities as a strategic step to reach Sustainable Development as well as APRU goals. Therefore, APRU Secretariat gave an approval to implement this program in the near future. Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is one of the associations that UI joined as a member. As the only network of leading universities linking the Americas, Asia and Australasia, APRU is the Voice of Knowledge and Innovation for the Asia-Pacific region. APRU brings together thought leaders, researchers, and policy-makers to exchange ideas and collaborate on effective solutions to the challenges of the 21st century.

  •   On September 17, 2-17,  Vice Rector of Human Resources, Development and Cooperation  Dr. Hamid Chalid, S.H., LL.M as Universitas Indonesias’ representative paid a visit to Quito, Ecuador by the invitation of Indonesian Embassy for Ecuador to establish the academic cooperation between UI and Universidad San Francisco de Quito. This meeting was attended by The Chancellor of USFQ, Santiago Gangotena G., Ph.D, The Dean of Research and External Affair and Directur of Galapagos Campus Diego Quiroga F. Ph.D, The Coordinator of International Program, Mateo Sáenz Hinojosa, and also the Ambassador of Indonesia for Ecuador; Diennaryati Tjokrosuprihatono.   Universidad San Francisco de Quito has the strongest  Faculty of Medicine in Ecuador. They are prepared to be the research university with their developed laboratory, including the natural laboratory located in Galapagos, Pacific Ocean, and Amazon Rainforest. For the practice, USFQ has a big hospital; Hospital Veterinario de Especialidades USFQ.   This research university concept is also implied in their education system which requires their students, lecturers, and researchers to join a research project every week. USFQ implements the education system which balances the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor affect of their students, shown by the opened course such as art, sport, dance, and philosophy. For the internationalization, about 1000 foreign students come to the university to attend short programs, especially to attend courses on biotechnology.   On the meeting, the delegates talked about the possibility of future collaborationn between UI and USFQ on the research of tropical disease and herbal medicine, and also other research focuses such as Medicine, Engineering, Biology, Pharmacy, Humanities and Anthropology.

  • On Monday, September 25th 2017, facilitated by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic Indonesia delegation of Vice Rectors, Head of International Offices and Professors from Polish University visited Universitas Indonesia to introduce their universities and the higher education system in Polandia and in the same time discussing any potentials collaboration between Universitas Indonesia and their universities in the field of students and scholars activities. The Polish universities are Uniwersytet Mikolaja Kopernika W Toruniu, Warsaw University of Technology, University of Warsaw, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, AGH University of Science and Technology, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology,Warsaw University of Life Sciences- SGGW, Medical University of GDANSK, Medical University of Warsaw, Poznan University of Medical Sciences and one representative from Conference Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland. Prof. Melda Kamil Ariadno, S.H, LL.M, Ph.D (Head of International Office); Heru Susetyo, S.H., M.Si., LL.M., Ph.D. (Manager for Venture, Cooperation and Alumni Relations); Muthia Pramesti, S.E., M.M. (Head of International Office for Faculty of Economic and Business) and other colleagues from International Office of Universitas Indonesia  received  this visit at the Faculty of Law of Universitas Indonesia. At the end of the visit, all universities agree to have further U to U communication, following up the initial discussion that have been started with this visit and Universitas Indonesia is ready to collaborate with Polish Universities.

  • On Septmber 19th 2017, Macquarie University, Autralia held a Public Lecture Session for Graduated Students at Gedung Pascasarjana, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Indonesia. The lecturing session was moderated by Mr. Arviansyah, PhD, a lecturer from Universitas Indonesia and the lecture was given by Prof. Philomena Leung as Associate Dean, International and Corporate Engagement for the Faculty of Business and Economics, Macquarie University.   • On Friday, September 22th 2017, delegation from UNSW Canberra, Australia, Prof. David Lovell presented a Scholarship Seminar for Ph.D Program, took place at International Office Meeting Room, 1st floor, Central Administration Building, UI Campus Depok. The presentation was held in order to encourage research among UI lecturers and researchers. UNSW Canberra offers scholarships to international candidates of exceptional research potential to undertake a higher degree at UNSW Canberra. OECD rated Canberra the best city in the world for well-being in 2014-2015. Residents have the highest quality of life across income, employment, health, access to services, environment, education, safety, civic engagement and housing. The UNSW PhD Scholarship program for KoSASA (Korean Studies Association of South East Asia) Member Universities is established to support cooperation in research and education between UNSW and KoSASA member universities. With this scholarship, USNW offers outstanding young scholars from KoSASA member universities opportunities to study at UNSW towards a PhD degree.
