Taylor’s Law Summer Programme on Malaysian Legal System
Organised through collaboration with prestigious law firms, this programme aims to provide a strategic platform for Law students to gain insight into the Malaysian Legal System and workings of law-related organisations in Malaysia. Students will be attending seminars on the Malaysian Constitution and Legal Instructions such as the Malaysian Parliament, the Attorney General, the Judiciary, the Syariah Courts (Islamic Law) and the legal profession. Many experiential learning opportunities are provided through participation in field trips and site visits to the Parliament, High Court, Syariah Courts, Palace of Justice (where judicial courts and offices are housed), Attorney General’s Chambers, Legal Aid Center and Bar Council.
Taylor’s Business Summer Programme on Doing Business in Asia
Doing Business in Asia (Innovation, Culture and Entrepreneurship) is a strategic programme for all students interested to learn more about the dynamics of business setting in Asia. Students will be able to gain insights on business strategies, cross-cultural issues, marketing and management and business operations success factors. Moreover, students can look forward to participating in real-life business pitch and have their ideas validated by seasonal practitioners. Ultimately, this programme strives to equip students with an innovative and global mindset to appreciate the dynamic and emerging South East Asia markets as opportunities for growth and be aware of the business issues and challenges that arise from the diversified and culturally rich Asian business environments.
Taylor’s Hospitality Management Summer Programme
Anchored by our School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events (SHTE) which was ranked no. 1 in Malaysia and no. 14 in the World by QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019, our Taylor’s Hospitality Management Summer Programme is a customized hands-on programme to introduce the global hospitality trends to expound student’s understanding on the hospitality industry setting as well as for them to be acquainted with key industry players for future career development. Students will be able to experience the dynamics of different business practices amongst international hotel chains in Malaysia. Some of the top destinations include Hilton Worldwide Group, Marriot International Group and Resort World Genting which is an integrated resort with casino, food and beverages and 5-star hotel facilities. All-in-all, students can look forward to an integrated approach of learning covering the full aspects of luxury brand management, revenue management, guest service management, human resource management, intercultural workplace management, hospitality management as well as the Food and Beverages trend in Malaysia.
Essentially, students will also be able to experience the diversity of Malaysian culture by participating in a cultural workshop and have sight-seeing tours to Kuala Lumpur and Malacca which is a UNESCO heritage site. Through it all, gastronomical delights await all students as Malaysia is well known to be a haven for food lovers especially its local signature dishes.
The cost of participation is USD1,200 for a 2-week programme. For Law students, they have the option of joining the 3-week programme which is inclusive of a 1-week internship attachment at USD1,500. Accommodation, on-ground transportation, group airport transfer, welcome and farewell reception and experiential learning opportunities such as field trips, workshops and seminars are included in the cost of participation.
