APRU VSE Credit Earning Program 2021

VSE Season 1, 2021-22 includes regular-term courses offered by participating universities that start from July 1 to December 31, 2021.

Follow the steps below to make an application:

1. Submit an application through the VSE Application System:

  • You can access the application system with most major browsers, except Internet Explorer.
  • Create an application account. You are strongly encouraged to register using your university email.
  • Log in to your application account with your registered email and password.
  • Complete the “Personal Particulars” section.
  • Select one course from the list of courses available.
  • Select your desired class section. If all available options are listed under one single class, you will make your selection after your application has been approved by the course offering university.
  • Review the terms and conditions and click “Submit” to complete the application.
  • You will NOT receive a confirmation email after submission. However, you can log in to the application system anytime to view your submitted application.
2. Email the following items to apru.vse@cuhk.edu.hk:

  • [REQUIRED] A copy (scanned/electronic) of your latest transcript (official/unofficial) IN ENGLISH from your home university. Your application will NOT be processed if the submitted transcript is not in English. Please contact the VSE Coordinator or the relevant office at your home university if you have difficulties acquiring a transcript in English.
  • [OPTIONAL] A copy (scanned/electronic) of your proof of language proficiency, if required by your selected course offering university.

Your email’s subject should follow the below format: “VSE Season 1, 2021-22: Application Documents [YOUR APPLICATION NUMBER]”
3. The VSE Central Office ask your home university if they would endorse your application. Your application must be endorsed by your home university before it would be sent to the corresponding course offering university.
4. Your endorsed application will be sent to the course offering university after its specified application deadline. The course offering university will review your application and decide if they would approve your application.
5. Once your application is approved, you will be notified of the result through email from the VSE Central Office, and provided with further registration procedures by the course offering university.

Each student may enroll in a maximum of 2 courses (from the same university or a different one) per one APRU VSE season. If students would like to take two APRU VSE courses, then they should make 2 different applications to the APRU VSE Central Office.

Please note that UI students that seek endorsement from UI International Office need to submit the required documents a maximum of seven (7) working days before the endorsement deadline on the APRU VSE website.

 

Terms and Conditions:

  1. While participating in this program, UI students remain attending classes at UI.
  2. Students are able to take maximum 2 (two) courses from the host University, so later it will not interfere with the ongoing main study at UI.
  3. The process of credit transfer will be decided by the faculty whether or not it is possible and students must ensure that the destination university can issue the document required for credit transfer processing.
  4. Fill out the application form on the APRU VSE website
  5. Forward the confirmation email for submitting the online application form from APRU Central Office by attaching the required documents attached to the email address: ui-apru@ui.ac.id not later than 7 working days before the deadline for endorsement listed on the APRU VSE website

ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY

For undergraduate students:

  • A student with active status
  • Students should be, minimum, in their 3rd semester at UI, at the time of application
  • Have not registered 144 credits at UI (including credits on the last semester at UI before departing for exchange) by the time of the application.
  • Mandatory to transfer credits from the exchange period to UI.
  • Students will not graduate from UI until the exchange period is completed.
  • GPA minimum of 3.2 (all major)
  •  TOEFL/IELTS:
    • PBT at least 550
    • ITP  at least 550
    • iBT at least 80
    • IELTS at least 6.0

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
If the host university has higher eligibility, then the eligibility will follow the eligibility of the host university.

APRU Virtual Student Exchange is a credit-earning program and can not replace an obligatory exchange program unless your faculty has confirmed otherwise. 

DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Letter of Recommendations from faculty signed by Dean or Vice-Dean. In this recommendation letter, please indicate the outbound exchange scheme that your faculty support and acknowledge (only online or only offline or both online and offline scheme are supported and acknowledge). Please include the following information in your recommendation letter:
    – The university destination
    – The number of credit you take
    – The name of the course you take
    – A statement that the credit of the course you take is able to be transferred to UI
  • Legalized Final transcripts (GPA min. 3.2)
  • IRS for the last semester at UI before participating in the program
  • English Proficiency Certificate
    • PBT at least 550
    • ITP  at least 550
    • iBT at least 80
    • IELTS at least 6.0
  • CV
  • Motivation Letter

Please forward the application confirmation email from the APRU Central Office and send the required documents a maximum of seven (7) working days before the endorsement deadline on the APRU VSE website to this email ui-apru@ui.ac.id (Ms. Alyssa).
