Saint Petersburg University Russian Language Course

Saint Petersburg University is offering FREE Russian Language Course (Online) for the following semester (February-June 2023).

The courses will take place as lessons with a teacher in groups from 5 to 15 people in Zoom/Microsoft Teams. Students can choose between two options:

  1. 4 classes per week, 90 minutes each (usually the classes take place twice a week, in the morning/day/early evening Moscow time, 3 hours each with a small break in the middle), or
  2. 10 classes per week, 90 minutes each (usually the classes take place every day from Monday until Friday, in the morning/day/early evening Moscow time, 3 hours each with a small break in the middle).

Students will be divided into levels at the beginning of the semester. All levels from 0 to C1 are possible. At the end of the semester the students who successfully attended the classes and passed the tests will receive the Transcript of Records from Saint Petersburg University with 8 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits for 4-classes per week course or 30 ECTS credits for 10-classes per week course.

ELIGIBILITIES

FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

  1. UI student with active status.
  2. Students should be at the minimum, in their 3rd semester at UI, at the time of application.
  3. Have not registered 144 credits at UI (Including credits on the last semester at UI before departing for exchange) by the time of application.
  4. Mandatory to transfer credits exchange period to UI.
  5. Will not graduate from UI until the exchange period is completed.
  6. GPA min. 3.2 (all major)
  7. English Proficiency Standard:
    – TOEFL PBT min. 550
    – TOEFL ITP min. 550
    – TOEFL iBT min. 79
    – IELTS min. 6.5

FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS

  1. UI student with active status.

  3. Have not registered 40 credits at UI (Including credits on the last semester at UI before departing for exchange) by the time of application.
  4. Mandatory to transfer credits exchange period to UI.
  5. Will not graduate from UI until the exchange period is completed.
  6. GPA min. 3.2 (all major)
  7. English Proficiency Standard:
    – TOEFL PBT min. 550
    – TOEFL ITP min. 550
    – TOEFL iBT min. 79
    – IELTS min. 6.5

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  1. A faculty recommendation letter signed by Dean or Vice Dean with particular information needs to be included.
    • In the recommendation letter, please indicate:
    1. The Outbound Exchange Scheme that your faculty support and acknowledge. (only online or only offline or both online and offline schemes are supported and acknowledged)
    2. The student will not graduate from UI until the exchange program is completed.
    3. Academic credits earned from exchange programs abroad can be converted/transferred to UI.
