Tohoku University, Japan offers Student Exchange Programs for UI undergraduate and graduate students. The programs offered are:
- Junior Year Program in English (JYPE)
The program is available for undergraduate students in the field of science, agriculture, engineering and computer science.
- International Program in Liberal Arts (IPLA)
The program is open for undergraduate students in the field of social sciences, economics and humanities.
- Laboratory Cooperative Study Program (COLABS)
The program is offered for master students who have interest in conducting research in the field of science, agriculture, health sciences and engineering.
- Direct Enrollment Education Programs (DEEP)
The program is intended for students who have interest to follow the lectures in Japanese with other Japanese students

JASSO offers scholarships worth JPY 80,000 for students recommended by Tohoku University. For students who are interest to apply for this program, please submit the application along with supporting documents: Recommendations of the faculty, final transcripts (GPA min. 3.3), ITP TOEFL score of at least 550, Motivation letter and CV to the International Office at the latest on February 19, 2016.
