On February 15, 2014 Prof. EikoOwada and Dr. YuzoUsami from School of International Liberal Studies, Waseda University met Junaidi, MA, Head of International Office and Hafiiz, the representatives of the Faculty of Ekonomy, to discuss the implementation of AIMS project (Asean International Mobility for Student). This project enables Waseda and Universitas Indonesia students to spend one semester in each university. In Universitas Indonesia case, the students can study English Language and Culture and Economics and Business. Participating students are awarded scholarships for the program. The project is supported by MEXT of Japan. The first batch from Waseda will be coming to UI this year, while UI students will go to Waseda next year.
AIMS is a student mobility project under SEAMEO RIHED which enables students from participating universities in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and now Japan to study for one semester in designated study programs. Currently there are Brunei Darrusalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan participating universities taking part in the project.
