UI INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
Welcome to Universitas Indonesia research page!
Universitas Indonesia has a well-established reputation in Indonesia and is recognized for the excellence of its research in many areas including its impacts, particularly in Indonesia as well as in Southeast Asia. Our cutting edge research is both theoretical and applied research and we are aware our research must deliver impact.
UI RESEARCH AT A GLANCE
Research at Universitas Indonesia is primarily managed by the Directorate of Research and Community Engagement as the central unit that provides assistance in ensuring research compliance, research grant facilitation and administration, enforcing research initiatives and establishing engagement with industries and communities, which is also important in creating impactful research. Apart from that, the Directorate of Research and Community Engagement works together with a number of cross-disciplinary research centers and laboratories.
As a comprehensive university, comprising 14 faculties and 2 postgraduate schools, we have five research focuses which we expect to be able to contribute to the implementation of sustainable development goals.

We currently have 45,491 research and scholarly outputs. Throughout 2022, we have published 2,402 publications, in which 57% is included in the Q1 and Q2 (SciVal, 2022). 2,419 researchers are available ranging from three science clusters: health, social and humanities, and sciences and technology. ACADEMIC STAFF EXCHANGE
UI International Office plays a role in bridging any potential contacts between Universitas Indonesia’s academia and international partners to develop international collaborations. Occasionally, this collaboration leads to a more comprehensive activity, including joint-research. UI Academic Staff Exchange Program is a visiting scholar program particularly designed to facilitate international academics and researchers to conduct various activities for at Universitas Indonesia and to also support UI scholars visiting our partner universities.
UI welcomes applications from students, senior academics, professors, and researchers who wish to spend periods of monthly up to yearly in the faculty to exchange expertise, or carry-out research with faculty members of a department as their scientific counterpart. With regards to the research focus highlighted, International Office provides assistance in facilitating this exchange of expertise and collaboration to happen between UI faculties and their counterpart or vice versa, through Visiting Researchers Program to Universitas Indonesia.
