
Universitas Indonesia (UI) hosted a delegation from China Agricultural University (CAU) to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and to strengthen institutional relations between the two universities. The meeting brought together senior university leaders and faculty representatives from both sides, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing education, research, and international cooperation.

During the meeting, CAU presented its institutional background, noting that the university was established in 1905 through the merger of several institutions. CAU outlined its vision to become a world-class university with Chinese characteristics and strong excellence in agriculture, with a mission focused on addressing real societal challenges. CAU also expressed interest in organizing a summer school program and inviting Universitas Indonesia students to participate.
The Dean of UI’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences highlighted that CAU’s strengths in agriculture and social sciences are highly relevant to FISIP’s academic programs and expressed interest in further collaboration. CAU also conveyed its willingness to share best practices and experiences in agricultural development with UI departments that have similar academic focuses.
Representatives from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences stated their openness to continued discussions through designated faculty channels. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Economics and Business shared its experience in international collaborations, including double degree programs, internships, and student exchange initiatives, and expressed interest in establishing similar cooperation with CAU, including potential joint research within existing research clusters.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between China Agricultural University and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, marking a significant milestone and laying a strong foundation for future collaboration between the two institutions.
