During the meeting, the Albanian Embassy expressed its interest in developing cooperation through both government-to-government (G2G) and people-to-people (P2P) approaches, particularly in the field of student mobility. The Embassy is currently pursuing discussions with relevant ministries to enable a greater number of Indonesian students to pursue higher education in Albania.
The Embassy of Albania proposed several potential areas of cooperation, including:
Student exchange programs
Faculty exchange initiatives
Promotion of scholarships for Indonesian students
Establishment of formal agreements or Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)
Universitas Indonesia welcomed the information regarding scholarship opportunities and expressed its strong interest in expanding international academic partnerships.
UI highlighted its openness to developing double degree programs with Albanian higher education institutions. As UI currently has no international students from Albania, both parties viewed this initiative as a promising opportunity to initiate new academic ties and broaden international diversity on campus.
As a follow-up, the coordination of an MoU will be discussed further through an online meeting involving UI and universities in Albania. The upcoming discussions will focus on identifying specific fields of cooperation to be included in inter-university agreements.
This meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Universitas Indonesia and the Embassy of the Republic of Albania to fostering meaningful international collaboration and strengthening educational ties between Indonesia and Albania.
