During the session, the discussion focused on benchmarking the service systems and International Office Services specifically tailored for foreign researchers. BRIN representatives inquired about how UI implements services for foreign researchers and asked whether there are specific guidelines or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) currently in place.
In response, UI detailed its structural approach to managing international academics. It was explained that UI divides these responsibilities into three distinct categories: foreign students are managed by the Directorate for Internationalization of Education (DIP), foreign researchers are overseen by the Directorate of Research Funding and Ecosystem (DPER), and foreign lecturers are handled by the Directorate of Human Resources (DSDMPT)
Furthermore, UI clarified that within DIP, the scope of services provided to foreign researchers and lecturers is strictly limited to matters concerning licensing and immigration. UI also noted that the current process for submitting these permit applications is facilitated through Google Forms.
