The Master’s Program in Psychology at Universitas Indonesia is a postgraduate academic program (Master’s degree) offered by the Faculty of Psychology. Designed for graduates of undergraduate or equivalent programs, it aims to foster the advancement and application of knowledge, technology, arts, and culture through reasoning and scientific research.

The Master’s Program in Applied Psychology at Universitas Indonesia is designed to bridge psychological theory with real-world practice. Graduates are expected to become consultants or experts who can address societal issues at the individual, group, community, or organizational levels using applied psychological approaches. This academic program does not prepare students for clinical practice as licensed psychologists.

Its mission is to provide Master’s-level education in psychology that fosters critical thinking, creativity, innovation, professionalism, and scientific attitude, while equipping students with practical skills to address societal challenges. The program aims to produce academically competent graduates capable of implementing psychological interventions, generate applicable scientific research with urban and cross-cultural relevance, disseminate findings to relevant communities and institutions at national and international levels, and open opportunities for academic knowledge exchange and collaboration through national and international networks.
The Professional Psychology Program at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Indonesia, is committed to producing highly competent, professional, ethical psychologists who are capable of applying their knowledge and skills for the benefit of society and their personal development. The program offers three areas of specialization: Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Educational Psychology. Each track maintains its unique focus while sharing core components such as joint coursework, assessment methods, and psychological interventions.
The program envisions becoming a leading professional psychology education program that produces psychologists equipped with strong competencies in promotive, preventive, and curative interventions at the individual, group, organizational, and community levels. These interventions are grounded in theory and research, aligned with the Indonesian Code of Ethics for Psychologists, and designed to meet competitive standards in Asia and beyond.
The program’s mission includes delivering research-based professional education that empowers psychologists to address psychological problems through assessment and intervention; fostering a learning environment that values openness, tolerance, lifelong learning, professionalism, and ethical conduct; maintaining partnerships with communities and institutions to deliver psychological services; and promoting collaboration, innovation, and inclusive engagement across academic and professional networks involving students, educators, alumni, and related professionals.
