APRU Mini Certificate in Global Aging

If you are a professor or lecturer with expertise in aging and would like to serve as a course facilitator, please contact mwithers@usc.edu. The more facilitators we have, the more students we can accommodate!
Facilitators help moderate breakout rooms of 8–12 students during one or more sessions

Overview

The APRU Mini Certificate in Global Aging is a free, three‑session course is designed for students with limited knowledge of aging and brings together participants from across the world to explore key issues shaping aging societies. Participants will also complete brief online assignments through the program website.

  2. Mar 5 at 5-7pm PT / Mar 6 at 9-11am UTC+8
  3. Mar 12 at 5-7pm PT / Mar 13 at 9-11am UTC+8

The Course Covers:

  1. Global demographic trends
  2. Impacts of aging on economies, healthcare, and social systems
  3. Ageism and its effects on older adults
  4. Approaches to healthy and active aging
  5. Design strategies for age‑inclusive environments

The certificate provides a solid introduction to global aging and practical ideas for building more inclusive communities.
