Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Global Scholarship

2025 Fall Semester – 2026 Spring Semester

The Hyundai Chung Mong-Koo Foundation selects and supports scholars who aspire to study in a one-year visiting student program at Korean universities.

Only students who apply to the Directorate for Internationalization of Education can be recommended.

Eligiblity

FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
  • UI Student with active status.Business & economics - Future Industry (Climate technology, new energy industry, intelligence information technology, bio-health etc.) - Korean & Korean studies - Policy & Public development (International relations, development etc.)
  • Students should be at the minimum, in their 3rd semester at UI, at the time of application.
  • Have not registered 144 credits at UI (Including credits on the last semester at UI before departing for exchange) by the time of application.
  • Mandatory to transfer credits exchange period to UI.
  • Willing to obtain minimum credits requirement based on declaration before the start of your exchange period.
  • GPA min. 3.2 (all major)
  • Will not graduate from UI until the exchange period is completed.
  • English Proficiency Standard:TOEFL iBT min. 80, IELTS min. 6.5
  • Mandatory to purchase International Health Insurance that meets the coverage requirements set by the destination country’s visa and the partner university’s regulations.
  • Mandatory to have passport before applying.
  • Students who have previously participated/enrolled in any international program from International Office UI or any other opportunities including IISMA are NOT eligible.
  • Not currently applying for another exchange or study abroad with a fee-paying program, e.g.: IISMA.

Document Requirements

  • A faculty recommendation letter signed by the Dean or Vice Dean with particular information needs to be included. Please read “IMPORTANT NOTES” for detailed information about it.
  • Legalized latest transcripts (GPA min. 3.2)
  • IRS for last semester at UI before departing exchange
  • English Proficiency CertificateTOEFL iBT min. 80, IELTS min. 6.5
  • CV
  • Motivation Letter
  • Statement letter of willingness not to lave the country if the faculty does not give permission
  • Writen approval letter of departure from parents
  • Study Plan (mandatory)

All documents have to be merged in 1 (ONE) pdf format file in the order listed above. Send the documents to outbound@ui.ac.id at the latest on 14 February 2025.

IMPORTANT NOTES

*Please indicate:

  • The Outbound Exchange Scheme that your faculty support and acknowledge (only online or only offline both online and offline schemes are supported and acknowledged).
  • The student will not graduate from UI until exchange program is completed.
  • Academics credits earned from exchange program abroad can be converted transfered to UI.
