Call for application for student exchange program at University of Calgary, Canada!
Open for undergraduate students who have never participated on exchange program.

A scholarship opportunity under the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) program (SEED-2) will be available for exchange students applying to the University of Calgary.

Eligiblity

FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
  • An active UI Student
  • Min. 3rd semester for Bachelor at the time of application
  • Have not completed all required credits of their study
  • Must transfer credits to UI after completing exchange program
  • Must not graduate from UI until the exchange program is completed
  • Have a strong academic performance
  • Have a strong competence in English proficiency
  • Must purchase international health insurance that meets visa and partner university requirements
  • Must have a valid passport at the time of application.
  • Students who have participated or currently enrolled in a student exchange are not eligible
  • Must not be currently applying for or accepting any exchange at the time of application.
  • Must comply with faculty-specific rules and regulations (if any)

Document Requirements

  • Faculty Recommendation Letter (signed by the Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs/ Education Manager/ Head of International Office at Faculty)
  1. The faculty supports and acknowledges the offline outbound international mobility program.
  2. The student will not graduate from UI until the international mobility program is completed.
  3. Earned credits are transferable to UI.
  • Academic record signed by Vice Dean
  • CV & Motivation Letter
  • A Valid English Proficiency CertificateTOEFL ITP / TOEFL iBT / IELTS
  • Written approval letter of departure from parents (following the provided format)
  • Learning agreement (following the provided format)
  • Consent letter (following the provided format)

Additional Requirements for SEED-2 (GAC) Scholarship Applicants

  • Proof of CitizenshipA copy of a valid passport or national identity card (with photo and valid dates).
  • Signed Privacy Notice Statement
  • A copy of the Privacy Notice Statement for non-Canadian participants. (Download template here)
  • Must be signed by the candidate.
  • Must be dated within the last six (6) months.
  • Letter of Intent (Maximum one page)

The letter must:

  • Explain the nature of the proposed studies or research in Canada.
  • Provide a clear rationale for studying in Canada and for choosing University of Calgary, the program, and (if applicable) supervisor.
  • Explain how the proposed program will relate to the candidate’s future career.
  • Describe how studying in Canada will empower the student to contribute to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
  • Explain how the learning outcomes will help reduce poverty and narrow the development gap in their region.
  • Clearly identify the relevant Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) aligned with the proposed study (applications that do not identify an SDG will be deemed incomplete and ineligible).
  • The letter must specifically explain how the knowledge and experience gained in Canada will contribute to poverty reduction in Indonesia.
  • Letter of Proof of Full-Time Enrolment
  • Issued on official letterhead.
  • Dated within the last six (6) months.
  • Must confirm that the student is currently enrolled as a full-time student.
  • Transcripts, student cards, or letters of admission are not acceptable substitutes.
  • Letter of Support from the Home Institution (Maximum one page)
  • Issued on official letterhead.
  • Dated within the last six (6) months.
  • Written by the candidate’s instructor, professor, or international director.
  • Must:
    • Explain the proposed study or research in Canada.
    • Explain how both the student and Universitas Indonesia will benefit from the scholarship.
    • Assess the candidate’s commitment and capacity to contribute to poverty reduction and development in their country or region
