Global Outbound Mobility Scholarship for Students

UI GLOBES (Global Outbound Mobility Scholarship for Students) is a merit-based and need-based financial aid program provided by UI for UI students based on their achievements to support activities in academic and research fields abroad.

General Information

The program offers financial aid to students who have been accepted into various international programs, including:

Exchange Programs: Opportunities to study overseas at partner universities for a semester or more (tuition fee-waived), allowing students to immerse themselves in different academic environments and cultures.

Fee-Paying Study Abroad Programs: For students enrolling in academic programs at international institutions for a semester or more other than exchange scheme.

Internships or research: Professional placements abroad that provide hands-on experience and exposure to global work environments, including research activities

Short Courses or Summer/Winter Programs with credit: Intensive academic or skill-based programs conducted for a short period, offering students a chance to gain specialized knowledge.

International Competition and conferences are not eligible for this scholarship.

Key Features

The motivational statements should present the student conditions to meet the merit-based selection and need-based criteria.

Merit-Based Criteria: To qualify for this scholarship, students must demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, exhibit strong leadership potential, and possess the ability to represent Universitas Indonesia (UI) on an international stage. This financial aid seeks individuals who not only excel in their studies, but also contribute positively to their communities and embody the values of UI.

Need-Based Criteria: Financial Aids consider the financial needs of the students. It is designed to support those who require financial assistance to pursue their educational goals. The funds can be used to cover various expenses, including tuition fees, travel costs, accommodation, and other related costs, depending on the specific program and destination. We aim to ensure that financial barriers do not hinder talented students from achieving their full potential.

Eligibility

To be eligible, students must have attained the conditions below:

Must be actively registered as the vocational, undergraduate or graduate full-degree students at Universitas Indonesia until the program is finished.

Not received any full scholarships from host university/government/other institutions.

Should submit required documents as below:

a letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the host university
a letter of recommendation from the faculty at home university
a genuine motivational letter from the applicants
a proposal in the specified format at least 2 months before the activity
a screenshot of Tuition Fee Page provided on your SIAKNG
a signed Student Academic Record (Academic Transcript)
a letter of statement that explains any other funding received

Awardees are keen to provide a testimoni that will be shared through DIP Social Media and Website in regard to UI GLOBES.

Scholarship Benefits

Supporting grants up to IDR 25,000,000 and it can be used for meals, accommodation, and/or transportation during the programs

(This program is available for a limited quota, based on the proposal and program applied)

Timeline

The scholarship is open year-round
Students are expected to receive the UI GLOBES Offer Letter within one month (30 days) and should confirm their acceptance within 2 weeks (14 days) through email to ui-intlscholarship@ui.ac.id.
The applicants will receive the UI GLOBES award letter when they have accepted the offer within 2 weeks after the activity is finished.
The UI GLOBES funds will be disbursed to the awardee’s Indonesia Bank Account after the students signed the contracts/agreement.
Awardees of UI GLOBES should provide the activity and financial reports within 2 weeks after the program is finished. The reports should include the boarding pass of return flight, certificate of attendance and/or statement of completion from the host faculty, photos as documentation during the program, and testimony about the program.

Notes

A proposal should be submitted by each student (a group proposal is not accepted). Please find the proposal template in the appendix of UI GLOBES guideline: bit.ly/Guidelines_UIGLOBES
For those who have not received any Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Host University/Institution/Organizer will receive conditional letter for the scholarship.
The unconditional award letter will be released if the student has held the LoA and submitted it to the Directorate for Internationalization of Education via ui-intlscholarship@ui.ac.id
The UI Globes contract will be released and signed by students after submitting all the required documents.
