Visit: Universitas Indonesia and Fudan University Advance Talks on Academic Collaboration

Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed a delegation from Fudan University, China, to discuss potential academic collaborations and strengthen ties between the two leading institutions.

The Fudan University delegation was represented by Ms. Qi Shipping, while UI was represented by:

  • Alfrida Esther Madame Hutapea, S.Sos., Assistant Director of International Class Operation and Mobility, Directorate for Internationalization of Education

  • Yunitha Fajarwati, Section Head of International Education Partnership, Directorate for Internationalization of Education

  • Rania Suhha, Outbound Mobility Officer, Directorate for Internationalization of Education

  • Hanny Kemala Fauster, International Visits Officer, Directorate for Internationalization of Education

During the meeting, Fudan University presented an overview of its academic strengths, which include five major academic disciplines, 39 schools and departments, and 18 affiliated hospitals. The university offers 80 undergraduate programs, with five programs taught in English, particularly in fields such as Clinical Medicine and Economics.

The discussion highlighted several areas of prospective cooperation, including:

  • Double Degree Programs for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels

  • Student Exchange Agreements, including short-term opportunities such as summer and winter programs

  • Collaborative initiatives in Clinical Medicine, Chinese Language and Culture, and Business Chinese

Fudan University also introduced various scholarship opportunities, such as the Chinese Government Scholarship, Shanghai Government Scholarship, and International Chinese Language Scholarship, aimed at supporting international students.

The meeting further outlined the application process for international students—from submission and fee payment to faculty review, online interviews, and the issuance of admission notices and visa documents. Additional student services were also discussed, including limited on-campus housing, a Psychological Center, and a Student Development Center to support international student life.

Both parties expressed optimism about developing mutually beneficial programs that will enhance academic mobility and enrich the educational experience for students from both institutions.
