Visiting Professor Program at UI

The UI Visiting Professor Program invites distinguished professors to conduct academic activities such as delivering guest lectures, seminars, facilitating workshops, and engage in discussions on research collaboration at Universitas Indonesia.

Visiting Professor Requirements

From a university within the QS WUR Top 200.

Preferably from UI’s partner universities.

Have an h-index ≥ 50 (for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields) or h-index ≥ 25 (for Social Sciences & Management and Arts & Humanities).

Willing to participate in on-site academic activities at UI.

Willing to sign a Statement of Commitment to Collaborate in Research with Universitas Indonesia.

Program Implementation Guidelines

  • Visiting Professor Program may take place from 1 February to 31 May 2026.
  • Visiting Professor Program is conducted on-site at UI for 1 (one) week.
  • On-site lectures by visiting professors are prioritized for the International Class Program.
  • Discussions on research collaboration may be conducted online.
  • Workshops/seminars related to the research topics or expertise of visiting professors are attended by students and/or UI Faculty members.
  • Funding is allocated solely for on-site activities at UI.

Funding Allocation and Eligible Costs

  • Economy class airline tickets (at cost) with a maximum amount in accordance with the Universitas Indonesia Fee Standards.
  • The maximum honorarium incentive is IDR 25,000,000. Honorarium incentives can only be paid for teaching activities and workshops/seminars, with a maximum of IDR 5,000,000 per day.
  • Accommodation costs for up to 5 working days (6 nights) (at cost), with a maximum of IDR 1,500,000 per night.

*All listed funding is subject to tax and bank administrative fees.

How to Apply!

Prospective visiting professors are required to submit the following documents by 28 February 2026:

  • CV (Curriculum Vitae) or Resume (free format) including h-index information
  • 5-day Activity Plan outlining proposed lectures, seminars, or collaborative research initiatives

Please submit the documents and direct any inquiries to the Inbound Mobility Team at inbound@ui.ac.id. UI will then identify a suitable counterpart at the relevant faculty.
