UI Scholarship for Full Degree International Students

Get a funded opportunity to study in a culturally rich nation, one of Asia’s emerging economies, Indonesia. Universitas Indonesia offers scholarships for international students to take a master’s degree in a wide array of disciplines.

Eligibility

Please read the eligibility before you send the documents

Be a non-Indonesian citizen applying for a master's degree at Universitas Indonesia.
Hold a bachelor’s degree that qualifies for admission to a master’s programme
Not already hold a master’s degree

Provide recommendations from two referees for the application, at least 1 (one) academic referee and 1 (one) professional referee, OR 2 (two) academic referees
Have completed both the UI Degree admission and New UI GREAT 2026 scholarship requirements (for information on UI Degree admission requirements, please refer to: admission.ui.ac.id)
Must be proficient in English or Indonesian, depending on their chosen program

Scholarship Benefits

Tuition Fee Waiver for the master’s degree program, valid for up to a maximum of 4 semesters
Free student visa application, KITAS, and stay permit processing once; costs covered
Return economy class airfare reimbursement, up to a maximum of IDR 10.000.000(only once, maximum IDR 5,000,000 for each departure)
One-time settlement cost allowance of IDR 1,500,000

Health insurance coverage during the study period
Monthly living allowance of IDR 3,500,000 (including accommodation), subject to maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 at Universitas Indonesia(including accommodation, book, and research costs)

* Scholarship benefits will be given when a student has arrived in Indonesia
** The scholarship amount is tax-inclusive

Notes:

Please be advised that the NEW UI GREAT is intended solely to support the recipient and does not include any provisions for dependents or family members in Indonesia. The scholarship does not offer financial or pastoral support for dependents and will not endorse visa applications or provide travel arrangements for them. Any expenses not explicitly covered by the scholarship will be the responsibility of the student. The scholarship scheme will be based on selection

Admission Guidelines:

1. Admission Registration Fee

NEW UI GREAT applicants are required to pay an admission registration fee

2. Language Proficiency

All New UI GREAT 2026 Scholarship applicants must meet the English and/or Indonesian proficiency requirements, depending on their chosen major, study program, or faculty. (see details at www.ui.ac.id/master-program)
Applicants applying for a master’s program taught in English are required to meet the English proficiency requirements: PBT TOEFL min. 550 IBT TOEFL min. 80 IELTS min. 6
Applicants applying for a regular master’s program taught in Bahasa Indonesia at Universitas Indonesia are required to have Indonesian language proficiency, as evidenced by official documents:
BIPA – LBI UI level 3
TIBA – LBI UI level 4

3. Mandatory for Applicants

New UI GREAT applicants must submit the following documents merged into one PDF file and submitted together with proof of payment of the admission registration fee.

A valid passport indicating the holder’s identity
NEW UI GREAT Letter of Statement
A short essay (250-500 words) outlining the applicant’s background, including leadership experience, personal or professional influence, networking skills, career planning, and resons fot pursuing further studies ar Universitas Indonesia.
The names and contact details of two referees for your application, at least 1 (one) academid referee (such as professor, instructor, or academic advisor), and professional referee (such as former manager, supervisor, or colleague who has directly worked with the applicant in a professional capacity).
Two reference letters from nominated referees in English (or with sworn translation)
A bachelor’s degree certificate and academic transcript (in English or Indonesian). These must be official documents from the applicant’s previous university verifying the degree and academic performance.
