The meeting focused on adapting to shifting political landscapes, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to maintaining research momentum. LDE outlined plans to expand interdisciplinary research, particularly in the social sciences and humanities, to align with new funding opportunities.

To overcome existing challenges in joint research execution, LDE is working with key stakeholders to develop practical implementation guidelines. Any future negotiations or alignments will be coordinated closely with UI.

As part of the collaboration roadmap, UI and LDE agreed to host research matchmaking sessions, with an online event scheduled for late July 2025, followed by an in-person session on 21 August 2025.

LDE also introduced its innovative Thesis Lab program, where master’s students collaborate in teams while developing individual theses, a model UI is exploring to implement locally. Additionally, UI continues to promote its short academic programs to attract global participation and foster deeper academic exchange.
