During the meeting, both institutions agreed to initiate the renewal process for their Memorandum of Exchange, ensuring the partnership translates into active, tangible student mobility rather than just administrative ties. Discussions centered on organizing the upcoming fall intake and carefully aligning academic calendars, as UI students typically participate in exchanges during the fall semester. The teams also clarified academic and language prerequisites for prospective exchange candidates, establishing standards such as a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent TOEFL) for English-taught programs, alongside specific Indonesian language requirements for students intending to enroll in local classes.
Beyond traditional semester exchanges, the dialogue highlighted diverse summer and winter programs, as well as specialized opportunities allowing postgraduate students to conduct collaborative research with faculty for up to 89 days. Both universities also prioritized extensive student support systems, detailing provisions for housing coordination, buddy systems, academic supervisors, counseling, healthcare, and campus transportation. The visit concluded with actionable follow-ups, including finalizing the nomination timeline for the fall intake, addressing specific student dormitory coordination, and actively distributing program flyers and website resources to ensure students are fully informed and prepared for future mobility opportunities.
