During the dialogue, both institutions actively explored the implementation of Joint/Dual Degree and Fast-Track programs across a wide array of faculties, specifically discussing 2+2, 3+2, and 3+1+1 pathways, alongside potential funding support from the Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP). Faculty-specific collaborations are already gaining traction, with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) currently conducting curriculum mapping. Furthermore, the Faculty of Administrative Science (FIA) identified strong potential in Fiscal and Business Administration, while the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) pinpointed synergies in Politics, Philosophy, Economics, and Psychology with Monash’s Faculty of Arts.
The strategic talks also outlined promising degree pathways for the Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) and Architecture (proposing a 2+2 scheme), alongside Master’s level collaborations for the Faculty of Nursing (FIK). Both parties agreed that further focused discussions will be held to detail Honours requirements and acceleration programs for the Faculty of Medicine (FK), as well as aligning the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) with Monash’s Faculty of Medicine. Within the Faculty of Engineering (FT), reciprocal cooperation will officially commence with the Environmental Engineering department. Beyond structured degree pathways, UI and Monash University committed to broadening their overall partnership through student mobility and immersion programs, guest lectures, Joint PhDs, and high-impact collaborative research.
To ensure the rapid implementation of these initiatives, the meeting concluded with clear, actionable follow-up steps. Monash University will submit relevant syllabi and curriculum programs to facilitate comprehensive reviews and active curriculum mapping by UI’s respective faculties. Both institutions will prioritize follow-up dialogues with FT, FK, and other key faculties to formalize the 2+2, 3+2, and 3+1+1 academic schemes and evaluate LPDP funding integration. Concurrently, dedicated teams will advance the operational frameworks needed to launch the proposed Joint PhD and joint research ventures.
