Call for application for student exchange program at Yamaguchi University, Japan!
Open for Undergraduate (Bachelor – S1), and Graduate (Master – S2) students who have never participated on exchange program.

Eligibility

For Undergraduate (Bachelor – S1), and Graduate (Master – S2) Students
  • An active UI Student
  • Minimum in the 3rd semester for Bachelor (S1) students at the time of application
  • Minimum in the 2nd semester for Master (S2) students at the time of application
  • Have not completed all required credits of their study
  • Must transfer credits to UI after completing exchange program
  • Must not graduate from UI until the exchange program is completed
  • Have a strong academic performance
  • Have a strong competence in Engliash or Japanese proficiencyPlease refer to the notes in below for detailed proficiency levels
  • Must purchase international health insurance that meets visa and partner university requirements
  • Must have a valid passport at the time of application
  • Students who have participated or are currently enrolled in a student exchange program are not eligible
  • Must not be currently applying for or accepting any exchange at the time of application
  • Must comply with faculty-specific rules and regulations (if any)

Document Requirements

  • Faculty Recommendation Letter (signed by the Head of Departement/Study Program)
  1. The faculty supports and acknowledges the offline outbound international mobility program.
  2. The student will not graduate from UI until the international mobility program is completed.
  3. Earned credits are transferable to UI.
  • Academic record signed by Vice Dean
  • CV & Motivation Letter
  • A Valid English Proficiency CertificatePlease refer to the notes in below for detailed proficiency levels
  • Written approval letter of departure from parents (following the provided format)
  • Learning agreement (following the provided format)
  • Consent letter (following the provided format)

Language Requirements

English Proficiency Requirements
  • Faculty of Global and Science Studies
    • Requirement: A valid English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL iBT or ITP / IELTS).

  • Graduate School of Innovation and Technology Management
    • Requirement: A valid English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL iBT or ITP / IELTS).

Japanese Proficiency Requirements
  • Faculties of Humanities, Education, Economics, Science, Medicine, Agriculture, Engineering, and Veterinary Medicine
    • Requirement: A valid Japanese Proficiency Certificate (JLPT N2 or higher).

  • Graduate School of Humanities and Economic Sciences
    • Division of Humanities & Division of Clinical Psychology: A valid Japanese Proficiency Certificate (JLPT N1).
    • Division of Co-creation Sciences: A valid Japanese Proficiency Certificate (JLPT N2 or higher).
    • Division of Economics and Management: Must meet one of the following conditions:
      • Option A: A valid Japanese Proficiency Certificate (JLPT N2 or higher).
      • Option B: A valid English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL iBT 79 or higher).

  • Other Faculties and Graduate Schools
    • Requirement: A valid Japanese Proficiency Certificate (JLPT N4 or higher).
