For Fall Semester 2025

Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan offers a student exchange program for undergraduates or graduates in semester 3 (minimun) and has never participated in any program from the Directorate for Internationalization of Education.

UI students must choose YSEP or ACAP program when sending application documents

  1. For ACAP nominations, please include the “ ACAP Course-Oriented Program Sheet” prepared by each applicant
  2. For 2nd- or 3rd-year undergraduate students, an official Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) result or equivalent document is required as they are supposed to take courses conducted in Japanese

Eligiblity

FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
  • UI Student with active status.
  • Students should be at the minimum, in their 3rd semester at UI, at the time of application.
  • Mandatory to transfer credits exchange period to UI.
  • Willing to obtain minimum credits requirement based on declaration before the start of your exchange period.
  • Will not graduate from UI until the exchange period is completed.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is required, as most of the courses will be conducted in Japanese.
  • Language Proficiency Standard:TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, JLPT N1
  • Mandatory to purchase International Health Insurance that meets the coverage requirements set by the destination country’s visa and the partner university’s regulations.
  • Mandatory to have passport before applying.
  • Students who have previously participated/enrolled in any international program from International Office UI or any other opportunities including IISMA are NOT eligible.
  • Not currently applying for another exchange or study abroad with a fee-paying program, e.g.: IISMA.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is required, as most of the courses will be conducted in Japanese

Document Requirements

  • A faculty recommendation letter signed by the Dean or Vice Dean with particular information needs to be included. Please read “IMPORTANT NOTES” for detailed information about it.
  • Legalized latest transcripts
  • IRS for last semester at UI before departing exchange
  • Language Proficiency CertificateTOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, JLPT N1
  • CV
  • Motivation Letter
  • Statement letter of willingness not to lave the country if the faculty does not give permission
  • Writen approval letter of departure from parents
  • Study Plan (mandatory)

How to Apply!

All documents have to be merged in 1 (ONE) pdf format file in the order listed above. Send the documents to outbound@ui.ac.id at the latest on 24 March 2025.

IMPORTANT NOTES

*Please indicate:

  • The Outbound Exchange Scheme that your faculty support and acknowledge (only online or only offline both online and offline schemes are supported and acknowledged).
  • The student will not graduate from UI until exchange program is completed.
  • Academics credits earned from exchange program abroad can be converted transfered to UI.
