
Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed a delegation from the University of Melbourne to further strengthen academic and research collaborations between the two leading institutions. The meeting explored new opportunities in education, research, and international engagement, building upon a history of productive cooperation.
The delegation from the University of Melbourne was led by Professor Adrian Little, FASSA, Pro-Vice Chancellor (International) Chancellery, Global, Culture and Engagement, accompanied by Associate Professor Anita Horvath, Academic Director, International Engagement (Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences).

The meeting focused on a wide range of strategic initiatives, including:
Expansion of Double Degree Programs to create more academic pathways for students.
Joint Research and Publications, as well as teaching collaborations across disciplines.
Strengthening Collaborative Projects with the possibility of a matching fund mechanism.
International Class Programs at UI, where UI invited the University of Melbourne to become a partner for new programs in faculties such as Nursing, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Social & Political Sciences, Public Health, and Psychology.
Winter Program 2026, where the University of Melbourne will invite seven UI students with full funding (valued at 1,500 AUD per student, including accommodation and flights) for a 1–2 week program focused on policy and urban studies, in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Arts.
Joint Summer, Short, and Immersion Programs to provide students with broader academic and cultural exposure.
Exploration of Joint/Double Degree Programs for Master’s and PhD to align with LPDP scholarship opportunities.
Renewal of Expired Agreements, specifically the Joint Degree program with UI’s Faculty of Economics and Business.
Expanding Research Networks between UI and University of Melbourne researchers.
Public Lecture Opportunities featuring University of Melbourne professors to enrich academic discourse at UI.
Both universities agreed to follow up on concrete actions, including the renewal of existing agreements, implementation of student mobility programs, and joint academic initiatives that respond to emerging global challenges.
