Università degli Studi di Napoli “L’Orientale”, Italy offers a student exchange program for undergraduates and graduates in any subject in semester 3 (min) and has never participated in any program from the International Office.
COURSES
- The course catalogue is updated at the beginning of each academic year.
- Students will be able to modify their Learning agreements once in Naples using the “During the mobility” form.
- International exchange students have access to the whole academic offer, they can attend both bachelor and master courses.
FREE INTENSIVE ITALIAN COURSE (MANDATORY)
- A free intensive Italian language course is offered to all incoming students. This is a 60-hour course. Attendance is mandatory (up to 6 hours of absence maximum).
INSURANCE
- International students have to provide for their insurance (health insurance) by themselves.
- L’Università di Napoli “L’Orientale” will provide international exchange incoming students with an accident insurance policy which covers them in each University building.
- In order to take out this policy, students will have to give us a copy of passport or ID card.
TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS
- The Transcript of Record (ToR) will be uploaded on the student’s personal page as soon as the administrative office receives the exam grades. Then students will be able to download it from the section “Certificati” under the name: “Certificato di iscrizione con esami, voti e data – in inglese”.
ELIGIBILITIES
FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
- UI student with active status.
- Students should be at the minimum, in their 3rd semester at UI, at the time of application.
- Have not registered 144 credits at UI (Including credits on the last semester at UI before departing for exchange) by the time of application.
- Mandatory to transfer credits exchange period to UI.
- Will not graduate from UI until the exchange period is completed.
- GPA min. 3.2 (all major)
- English Proficiency Standard:
– TOEFL PBT min. 550
– TOEFL ITP min. 550
– TOEFL iBT min. 79
– IELTS min. 6.5 - Mandatory to purchase International Insurance that covers Covid-19 Treatment
- Mandatory to have a passport before applying
FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS
- UI student with active status.
- Students should be at the minimum, in their 2nd semester at UI, at the time of application.
- Have not registered 40 credits at UI (Including credits on the last semester at UI before departing for exchange) by the time of application.
- Mandatory to transfer credits exchange period to UI.
- Will not graduate from UI until the exchange period is completed.
- GPA min. 3.2 (all major)
- English Proficiency Standard:
– TOEFL PBT min. 550

– TOEFL iBT min. 79
– IELTS min. 6.5 - Mandatory to purchase International Insurance that covers Covid-19 Treatment
- Mandatory to have a passport before applying
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- A faculty recommendation letter signed by Dean or Vice Dean with particular information needs to be included. Please read “NOTES” for detailed information about it.
- Legalized latest transcripts (GPA min. 3.2)
- IRS for last semester at UI before departing exchange
- English Proficiency Certificate
- CV
- Motivation Letter
- Statement letter of willingness not to leave the country if the faculty does not give permission
- Written approval letter of departure from parents
All documents have to be merged in 1 (ONE) pdf format file in the order listed above. Send the documents to outbound@ui.ac.id at the latest on October 31st, 2022.
*NOTES:
- If the host university has higher eligibility, we will follow the eligibility of the host university.
- Students who have previously participated/enrolled in any program from International Office UI are NOT eligible to join this program.
- Language courses at University of Naples “L’Orientale” last for the whole academic year. They involve lessons held by both an Italian professor and a mother-tongue professor. However, even if exchange students stay for just one semester, they are allowed to join these courses and take the exams at the end of the semester. Of course, if they start attending during 2nd semester, they will attend the course from the middle and not from the very beginning.

- The student will not graduate from UI until the exchange program is completed.
- Academic credits earned from exchange programs abroad can be converted/transferred to UI.
