Application Status
The Global Collaborative Summer Program was established through an institutional agreement between Kyung Hee University and the University of Pennsylvania, which was later joined by other prestigious universities as well as the United Nations and international organizations.
Eligibility
The Global Collaborative Summer Program is open to all undergraduate and graduate students around the world as well as working professionals pursuing interests in Humanity, Civilization, and Global Governance. As classes are entirely instructed in English, English proficiency is a prerequisite.

Note
- The payment deadline for the GC 2023 Summer Program is May 7, 2023 (KST).
- Kyung Hee University accepts payment via bank wire transfer.
- Kyung Hee University does not cover bank transaction fees. Therefore, all applicants are asked to plan accordingly to ensure accurate payment.
- The remittance sender’s name MUST be the same as the applicant’s name.
- After remittance, please send a copy of the receipt via email(summer@khu.ac.kr).
Visa
- First, please check for visa requirements based on the nationality of your passport. The passport expiration date must be more than 6 months from the date of departure.
- If you are a citizen of a country under a Visa exemption agreement with the Republic of Korea, you can participate in the 4-week length of GC program without applying for a visa. To enter the Republic of Korea visa-free, students must obtain K-ETA approval before the flight or ship. Please keep in mind that the assessment can take more than 72 hours depending on the situation. Therefore, we recommend students to apply for K-ETA(Click for more) with sufficient time.
- If you are from a country that requires a visa to enter Korea, please follow the steps for Short-term Study Visa (D-2-8). For details regarding visa requirements or applications, please contact the South Korean embassy or your home country to verify whether you will need a visa for entering Korea. Please send an email to us(GAFC Office – summer@khu.ac.kr) in order to receive the necessary documents for your visa application. Obtaining a visa can be time-consuming, therefore we strongly recommend students apply early.
Insurance
- When you apply on the website, you can choose whether you will be insured through KHU Group Insurance (KRW 40,000/month, optional) or not. You can be insured individually or be insured through your home university too. If you are not certain about the insurance information, please contact us(GAFC Office – summer@khu.ac.kr) or your home university.
Scholarships
- Students may receive only one type of the listed scholarships.
- Students who are eligible for the scholarship must receive a confirmation of the final tuition fee from the GAFC office BEFORE the payment.[Process: Apply online → Submit required documents to summer@khu.ac.kr → Receive a confirmation email → Make a payment]
- Students from partner universities are also eligible to apply for the scholarships listed below.
- Any requests or inquiries related to the scholarship must be made within an application period via email.
